One Good Turn Deserves Another
When I was a child, my family didn’t have much money. My parents worked hard to provide for us, but there were always more month than money.
One Christmas, when I was six years old, I really wanted a new bicycle. I had seen one in the store window and I asked Santa for it. On Christmas morning, I was so excited to see that Santa had brought it for me! I rode my bike all day long, and I was the happiest kid in the world.
A few days later, I saw a little girl riding a bike that was just like mine. I rode up to her and asked her where she got it. She told me that her family couldn’t afford to buy her a bike, so a kind man had given it to her.
I was so touched by this act of kindness that I rode my bike back home and got it for her. It felt great to make someone else so happy, and I knew that one good turn deserved another.
